DOT Drug Tests
DOT tests must be completely separate from non-DOT tests in all respects.
The Department of Transportation has issued it's revised rule
governing drug and alcohol testing procedures (49 CFR Part 40).
The rule was published in the Federal Register on Tuesday, December
19, 2000, and is on the DOT website at
http://www.dot.gov/ost/dapc/index.html
Medical Review Officer (MRO). The DOT regulations require certain procedures in the Collection, Testing and Transmission of a Drug Test Result that require the Laboratory to transmit the results to a MRO who then transmits the results to the DER (designated Employer representative) and or their Service Agent.
